Pool was a swamp. Started slam and pool is clearing up but I noticed calcium scale on walls. I read that you can lower the Ph and scale can come loose be brushed off easier. I just added muratic acid to pool and expect it will drop to 6.8. I’ll Check in a couple hours. My question is should I still be doing the SLAM process while my ph is so low? Does that matter?

You should do the SLAM first and not worry about the scale until the SLAM is complete.
You can start the SLAM when the pH is at 6.8. All the bleach you add will raise the pH back up.
