My CH is 275, which is on the low end of the recommended range for a plaster pool. I have softened fill water, so it's not going to rise on it's own, it's actually fallen slightly since the beginning of this season.

Two questions:
Is this CH level range ok in the long run?
How low is 'too low' that should trigger me adding something to raise the CH?

Thank you!

Let your pH ride higher. Do not lower it below 7.6.

You could just use non softened water for a week or so and your CH will come up some.

Thanks, my pH will come back up shortly, usually I try to keep it around 7.8 but I've been lowering my TA from 110 to now 70 because I was having trouble with constant high pH levels (8.0 to 8.2).

My questions still stand though - do I need to raise my CH from the current level? is ~350ppm a more preferrable number to sit at for plaster pools?
