“Moss rock” is an architectural term, not a mineralogical terms. Moss rock is pretty much any local stone material that typically is found in outcroppings near the ground and upon which moss and lichen can grow. It can be anything from sandstone to more dense quartz/bluestone. It varies location to location.
In any case, just have the blasting technician look at the stone and do some test patches to see how effective their process is.
