Bullnose coping with pavers

Originally I was planning to replace only the liner and paint the coping. The liner install is scheduled for Friday 4/16. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to keep the old style bullnose coping with liner track or change to a cantilever flat track style with bullnose pavers because I want to remove the old red bricks.

My dilemma is this. The coping is screwed into a wood base, not steel and the wood is definitely showing its age (pool is likely 35 years old). I added quite a few deck screws into the coping because many of the old bolts have rusted off. I'm afraid if I swap to a flat track I may run into mounting problems and this project starts to get out of hand.

I think for now I am going to leave the C coping and use pavers flush to the coping. Does anyone have pictures of this setup (similar to one photo I found)?

I see in another thread you got your liner in.

Have you made any progress on your coping?

I decided to keep the old style C coping and I painted it. The wood base around the top perimeter of the pool may be compromised if I try to install a new track. The pool is maybe 35 years old. I will be installing regular pavers flush the coping and not using bullnose
