I switched to bromine a little over a year ago, but was still using the expensive chemicals to adjust TA, pH, shock, ect. I've been using a Taylor test kit and was able to keep everything in balance relatively easily. I'm now switching to suggestions here in hopes for better water chemistry and lower costs.

I'm awful at using the helpful links available here on TFP. But there are detailed steps on the TFP method. I'll let the pros do it!

Switch to liquid chlorine. It's unbelievably simple by comparison.

All we use in our spas are:
LC
1" Trichlor tabs when needed
Soda ash
Bicarb

Rarely we use bisulfate. You don't want to use it often. And won't need to using the above.

Purchase chlorination liquid if you can, and not bleach. It's too often adulterated.
