Bulkhead/Union for Pentair 520 Clean filter

Installing my new main pump I need to replace my outbound side to my filter so I need a new union filter side. Question, all I can find is reference to a 2" union but this pipe is 2 1/2". Am I misinterpreting this?

What makes you think that pipe is 2 1/2"?

Looks like 2" ID schedule 40 PVC.
