Needing some help to figure out what is causing these brown stains.

Saltwater pool, micro pebble plaster, water temp 60 degrees in north Texas with borates at 42 ppm.

My tests Taylor kit results are very similar with the store’s.

I have brushed but nothing is happening. What would you recommend?

Your cya (if that is accurate) is very low for a swg pool.
FC/CYA Levels
Do not adjust anything based on ps tests.
Use & post your own results from your kit.
Plz Add which kit you have & other pool details to your signature.

Thank you for the reply and I have updated my signature.

My tests from Taylor K-2006C with PS verified same results. I have since added acid to get down to 7.4-7.6.

From my test I knew my CYA level was low but wanted confirmation and will be adding conditioner to get that level corrected.

Any thoughts on what these stains might be? Or how to treat them?

Welcome! I'm having a hard time seeing the stains in the pics, but you can try rubbing a Vitamin C tablet on a stain to see if it's iron. If that doesn't work, we have a couple other options. Are you the original pool/home owner? Any pool store products added to the water that you are aware of?

Fertilizer or something rusty could have blown in causing an iron stain. I really had to stare to see so hopefully it comes right up.
