Hey I’m new here and have just taken over upkeep of my in-laws pool.
To start the TA and PH where tanked and the CYA was through the roof when I took possession. I’ve gotten everything to a somewhat manageable level and began the SLAM process due to algae and cloudy water.
Now that I’ve added the chlorine I’ve developed a terrible brownish stain all over the liner, walks and floor (note the liner is already bleached white so that makes it look worse). I suspect this is iron and is most likely from all the fresh water I introduced trying to lower the CYA. I just picked up some vitamin C tablets and will be testing to see if that removes the stain to verify.
My question is, should I stop the SLAM now and lower the FC so I can do the iron treatment? Or should I go ahead and finish the SLAM and then do the treatment after?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
