Broken main pump, how to deal with algae when water flow is very low

My main pump failed over the weekend and due to the hot weather, my pool has gone green. I am now running the variable speed pump at 1600rpm and the noise is acceptable. However, even after dumping in a lot of chlorine, the water remains green. To increase circulation, I've also added my sump pump in the deep end.

How do I deal with this algae with a low flow pump? I added enough chlorine last night to get my FC to 20ppm (according to poolmath) but this morning, the FC is down to 3. Is the algae consuming the chlorine overnight?

Also, my CYA is low at 20. I previously had it at 80 and I don't know what's consuming the CYA.

I plan to visit the pool store to buy more stablizer and liquid shock.

Any advice is appreciated.
