Brand new… overwhelmed

As Marty said above, do not use anymore CAL HYPO as it is just adding to your already high CH.
I would definitely drain to lower the CYA to a more manageable level then use the FC/CYA Levels for proper FC levels. You want to avoid algae even in the cooler months.

You do need to be careful with draining and exposing your plaster to too much sun.
Please read
Ok so… drain some refill and recheck my levels and go from there?

Yes - you can do a water exchange which will reduce the plaster exposure as one concept.
The other is to drain 18inches then refill. Repeat again.
Neither is as effective as a full drain and refill but it does work to reduce your CYA and CH levels.

However, be aware that if you are using your city tap water, you may be adding CH back in whereas there is no CYA in tap water. So your CYA levels will come down more than your CH levels.
