Bought a house, got a pool, now what

Hi all, just bought a house that has an above ground pool in the ground lol. First pool ever so needless to say we have no idea what we are doing.

Welcome - great news is that over on the left side of the main forum page is a link to pool school. Maintaining a pool is actually super easy - the goal being keeping free chlorine high enough to keep algae from having any chance at taking hold. From there, it’s very easy to manage pH, and the like.

TFP methods are based on having a proper test kit and doing your own testing. The things you will need can easily be bought at Walmart, Home Depot, etc. No need to really ever step into a pool store - they’re rife with unneeded magic potions, expensive chemicals, and unreliable testing.
