Backflow when Pump turns off

I have a major backflow of water when I shut my pump off. It will blow the lid off the skimmer at times. I'm assuming I have an air leak somewhere. I just resealed the fittings into the filter. Possible pinhole/air leak on the hose from skimmer to pump? I will say the lid to the pump basket is a complete pain to get off.....anyone got a replacement for this?

My Waterway is identical to the PowerFlo so I can relate to that tight lid. Did you recently open? Can you post some pics of your pool and equipment pad so we can see how everything is set up?

Everything looks normal from the pics. Interesting about that high pressure though. Quite a bit to go up the line to the skimmer. Have you already done an opening backwash & rinse to see if all the setting work normally?

It is true those flex lines can become compromised, so if you don't see anything odd with your MPV function, changing out the hoses could be a reasonable option.
