I agree with newdude you probably have algae. I just had a similar issue and ignored seeing a few green spots. Finally did a SLAM and no more FC battles.

I'll continue to monitor. Right now it looks amazing and sparkling no sign of algae anywhere. Did the chlorine test 4 hours after 1 sleeve of shock , (and I was mistaken when I checked the cell I never did the boost mode) shows 6 with zero CC. I'll continue to monitor but I also think my cell is on way out. After speaking with saltpoolguys my system was just about 10 years old. And this was the first issue I ever had. No scale ever on the cell. Keeping in mind I am a seasonal pool owner I think that is great.
This morning the chlorine showed 5 on 40%. No CC.
I think i will order a new cell just in case. Almost impossible to buy one local and I am sure much more expensive. All other tests were perfect.

I just bumped mine to 60% yesterday because 40% was losing ground in full sun. It seems like it hasn't rained in weeks.

BTW. I have used Salt Solutions. If it is the one based in Tampa. I got a refurbished cell from them and it works great.
