Any idea what this could be?

I uncovered this inside a inground sprinkler valve box behind my pool. Is this pool related?? Could it be a ground water sump pump? We are not the original owners and didn’t put the pool, drainage or irrigation in so always making new discoveries.

What does that grey conduit going into the middle of the box connect to?
