New guy here. TFP been super helpful getting me up and running. Pool started dark green and is now very clear! Tests all look good, been slow to bring up my CYA as wanted to make sure passing OCLT etc. Anyway, notice some dust when brushing as seen in the video. any way to determine if that is dead algae or plaster dust? much appreciated.

Depends on where the test results came from? The recommended Taylor kits don’t measure FC in .2ppm increments. Is this new plaster?

I using the Taylor K1515A test kit for FC which if I read correctly measures to .2 when using 25ml of water or .5 if using 10ml. Original pool build in 1995, replastered in 2017. First year I am maintaining it myself so can't really say for sure if this is new or old just that I am noticing now. Also heavy pollen season here right now.

Do this test tonight...Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

You pass, not likely algae.

I've passed several times in the past week. Didn't know if maybe dead algae? thinking maybe something plaster related.
