Algae Nearly Gone After Being Closed for 2 Years.

Don't get discouraged, this is the hardest part - but once clear if you keep the FC up maintaining it will be a breeze!

A daily addition is not quite enough. You should read the directions on SLAM - Shock Level And Maintain your pool in the How To section of Pool School and follow that procedure completely to the end.

A SLAM is a process where you bring the pool up to shock level and keep it there (that is the maintain part) until all the stuff living in the water is dead. The minimum you should be testing and adding is twice a day, but the more the better up to once an hour or two. Understanding that folks work it generally works out to test adjust in the morning before work, then a few times that evening after work. Days off is when you hit it hard. People find that early in a SLAM they add chlorine every hour for a while then it starts to hold and it may be 2 hours, then 4 then 6 before adjustments are really needed. Every pool is different, so it is impossible to say how long it will take.

So, to start adjust your pH as you FC above 10 causes high pH readings and you will be above 10 for a while

Add bleach/liquid chlorine to get it up to 12
Test, add bleach/liquid chlorine to get it back up to 12

As it moves along each time you add it will be less and less as there will no longer be stuff in the pool for the chlorine to kill.

The key is to keep it up until ALL three of the following are passed:
CC is 0.5 or lower;
You pass an OCLT (Overnight FC Loss Test (OCLT));
And the water is clear
