Algae Looking Stains while opening

Hey TFP ,
I just opened up my pool last week to what i thought was not a terrible winter, after running my pump constantly and shocking my pool water is crystal clear but the vinyl liner is not nearly as vibrant as it usually is (blue) its more of a greenish tint to it. I've brushed and brushed and brushed but it wont come off, i even put on a new cartridge filter.

I read a few places that low PH can hurt vinyl liners, is there anything i can do to restore it.

Definitely get that pH back into the 7s. A low pH over an extended time can do some damage. Hopefully yours wasn't low for too long. As for the green you are seeing, are you on a well by chance?

I'm thinking either Iron stains or tannin (rotting leaf tea). Either one can be orangish, which with a bluish pool gives it a greenish cast.

Try rubbing a vitamin C tablet on it, like the guy in this picture. If that doesn't lift it, then just be patient. Time and chlorine will fade it,

Thanks guys for the help...I got my ph back up to 7.2 using borax..ran the pump for 48 hours and now the pool looks like it's supposed to.
