You can only gain FC if you put additional chlorine in your pool....period. There's no way around that.
Are you conducting the test to the correct endpoint? You count the drops until the very last drop makes ABSOLUTELY no color change whatsoever. Then you subtract that last drop from the total and the result is your FC.
If you have an outdoor pool, you are consuming chlorine........irrefutable. Now, you have to figure out where the error lies.
