Ah, geeze SWG collar broken.

I just got my SWG cleaned up. I go to install it and the threaded collar at the bottom is cracked, won't snug up.

Since it is captive on the return pipe, how the what do you fix this? Does somebody make a collar that will separate and screw together?

Or is this a major plumbing job?

There are split unions that sometimes work, sometimes don't. Your signature does not show what SWCG you have.

Just be advised that there are many different thread configurations on OE components and aftermarket products that may appear similar.

I found a split union that worked on my SWG. I also discovered that I broke the original union because I was using a strap wrench to tighten it. Now I hand tighten them.
