First full year with our pool. Builder opened it and added some start-up chemicals. Water is crystal clear but have to test not sure what my levels are yet. I tested salt today and its low (2600ppm) Then I froze! I'm not sure if I add salt first and wait to get that up to 3200 and then look at the rest or do I test and balance everything else and adjust the salt last?
After Opening Does Salt come first or balance others then salt?

Chlorine is king. Get target range FC into the pool water first. Use liquid chlorine.
Then check CYA. Add enough to get to 30 ppm to start.
Adjust pH, if necessary.
Deal with salt, etc once you get the above worked out.
