add a Polaris cleaner timer

Right now I have the pump running on a timer. 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. My Polaris cleaner has an on-off light switch. the Polaris will only run if the filter pump is running.

I only want to run my Polaris during the morning 4 hour run time.

It seems like I could just replace the on-off light switch to the Polaris with a timmer and set the timing parameters for just the morning 4 hour run time?

is there anything I am not thinking of?

Nope, that should do it. Just make sure that the timer switch can handle the voltage and current.

I'd also add that you can probably cut that further, run it only as long as you needed to keep the pool clean. I think my polaris runs only 2-3 hours a day.
