Start up for new pool water

So we had to drain our pool..can someone point me in the direction on what I need to do after we fill it?

Sure. Once you get that water level up to the skimmer, place some stabilizer in a sock (near the skimmer) based on the poolmath calculator (link below) and start getting some CYA in there right away to protect your chlorine. Speaking of which, start adding some regular bleach to keep anything from trying to grow in your new water. Using the poolmath calculator again, start with about 2ppm initially until your CYA gets to its minimum of 30, then bring your FC up to regular levels of 3-7ppm. Also begin to adjust your PH and TA as needed based on the calculator and Recommended Levels chart (link below). Hope that helps get you on track.

You've got a TF100. This ought to be a snap for you.

Fill 'er up. Get the pump going and check for leaks. Use poolmath to figure out how to get to 2 FC and pour that in. You know CYA will be zero, so target 40 or so and put that in a sock and set it in the skimmer or dangle it in front of the return jet. By then, the pump should have been running half an hour, so test pH and TA. If either or both need adjusting, do it. Half an hour after that :splash:

i've never used the TF100 so im hoping it will be easy. so 1. add stabilizer and then chlorine. 2. check PH & TA about 30 mins after stabilizer and adjust where needed

I'd do chlorine first, stabilizer second so the chlorine is mixing while you're fumbling with the sock, and pH last so the water has maximum time to mix.

The TF100 is pretty easy to use. There are even videos to watch. Don't bother testing CYA today - tap water has none, so save the reagent.

ok sounds good. im waiting for a part to come in for the frame of the pool until then we will be filling.
