Newbie! needing help with chemistry. confused

Well, I know how to drain just through the main drain. I turn a fitting to the right and it turns off my skimmers. I just didnt know how to vaccum through waste. My pump is pro series model #s244t

Oh, well you would just put the hose in the skimmer hole running to the pump, and set the filter to waste. You should have a leaf canister though so you do not clog the suction line.

And it quits pulling out of the other skimmer so it won't suck air through it?

Is it more stressful for the pump to be running on waste or is it the same difference as filter? I am draining way down this time as far as i can without stressing the liner and I don't want to burn my pump up doing so.

Depends how it is plumbed, but there should be a direct line from the put to one of the skimmers and that is where you put the hose.

The pump does not care if it is on waste or not.
