    small rust hole

I have a small rust hole in my pool about a quarter of an inch across. Is there any way of repairing it that does not have me draining the pool.

Do you have a pic? Do you know what caused it? Rust hole in a vinyl liner is easily patched without draining the pool but I would make sure whatever caused it is gone first. Any local pool store should have patch kits available.

Thank you for helping me. I think the original rust probably started from a stone chipping the surface of the pool. the liner doesn't seem to be leaking at this point I just need to repair the hole in the aluminum side. The hole is about the size of a pencil.

I can but I'm away right now so it will be a couple of days before I can post a picture.

How far down the side? Most of the time you need to drain down below the hole so you can slip a piece of metal flashing in and duct tape it in place. The tape protects the liner from the sharp edges and the water presses the plate against the wall.

I agree with msgtdan. You might even want to consider cleaning the rust up and applying a rust inhibitor and patching both sides to make it last longer. Depending on where its located that is.
