    Maximum safe chlorine

The Chlorine/CYA chart http://www.troublefreepool.com/categ...ya_chart_shock tells me to shock my pool to 20 or 24 ppm.

What level is the maximum that is safe for swimming after shocking?

    Re: Maximum safe chlorine

Many folks here feel safe swimming at or near shock levels. Just wear an old bathing suit!! (This does NOT apply to small children who have a tendency to drink the pool...)

8200 gallon 20' x 48" round vinyl frame pool, manually chlorinated with 10% liquid, salt added to ~2000, 12" sand filter, 1600gph pump, TF100 test kit

"Shock" is a process, not a product!
