So, I need to SLAM my pool but the weather forecast says thunderstorms every day/night this week. Am I correct in assuming that I will never meet the SLAM requirements with nightly thunderstorms?

It is possible to meet SLAM requirements with thunderstorms if you're willing to put in the effort to dose it even when the weather isn't cooperating.
No, that isn't correct. Rainfall will have very little influence on your chemistry but not nearly what people think and it is easily managed with timely and good testing.
If it is cloudy during the day, you'll lose less chlorine to the sun while SLAMing, so I'd say rain is good.
The only caveat is this: if you have an in ground pool, and heavy rains carry runoff into the pool, that could be a problem. Could you put your pool and equipment specs in your signature?
