Pump basket cover

Not quite sure where to put this. My pump basket cover was replaced this season and the new cover is so tight I have to use a bar to take it off and put it on. Any suggestion? It's the same part

Sounds normal. You don't have to go any tighter than hand tight unless it starts sucking air in. You might steel need some leverage to unscrew it, though.

Good silicone lube (not teflon lube) will help a lot.
