Sopranos now available on Amazon Prime... guess that means I finally get to watch it!

Please do not reveal any GOT plots in this thread. We are AVID fans but too cheap to subscribe to HBO so we stay a year behind!!

I do know those dragons are going to turn some more folks into charcoal briquettes but I don't know who (Well, certainly I hope Geoffrey is a given :mrgreen:)

DOH! I just started reading book 1.

Well, I usually don't go far off topic on the forum but......

My favorites in this recent "continuing story" type series are

1. Breaking Bad

2. Sopranos (yeah, it's a bit old but I never saw an episode until last year.)

3. G.O.T.

4. The Wire

5. The Americans

Anyone got others?

I'm barely in season 2 of GOT...so far behind. Breaking Bad is still on the top of my list. Another series that I haven't seen listed is Orphan Black on BBC and also Netflix, it is sci-fi but based on some of the latest biotech discoveries. I might be a bit partial since I have a molecular genetics background

I'd love to do what you do.... :) My dream is to get my science degree, I have a business degree that just sits on a shelf now as my youngest son is autistic, so I stay at home, but now he's back at school, I'd love to get my second degree.... :) I'm not sure which of the sciences, I love anthropology and biology... Evolution has to be one of my favourite subjects..... I'm also interested in evolutionary biology and medicine, and neuroscience..... Starting with a general degree then i'll specialise... :)

Laceygirl from your list it seems you like shows with a bit of a science spin, check out Orphan Black. We have to pay for the BBC channel here in the states , I think you get it for free in Australia right?

I love what I do, love all things that involve science and technical in nature (I think this is why I enjoy reading the forums on TFP). I have to admit I've left the "bench" over 10 years ago and have gone to the "dark side"(industry) of science. So even with a science degree you can learn business concepts :). Sorry, I digressed a bit from topic.

Breaking Bad was the best show ever.
There was a BB marathon over Xmas holidays. Started at 11 a.m. and ended at 3 a.m. 1 wholse season each day for 5 days in a row.
Needless to say, I didnt move from the couch for 5 days! It wore me out!

**** I am still trying to finish Breaking Bad. Just started season 5. Lol. Next is GOT.

If you can get, start watching "Vikings" Its good!

Its back on again this week guys... Can't wait for the next episode... :) Its just been an amazing series this year... :) By far my favourite....

Thanks CCisotope :) Its in my future that's for sure.. :)

I forget who said it earlier, but if you liked The Wire: check out Deadwood.

But Game of Thrones (books especially) can't be beat.

Also, one of my current favorite shows is Cosmos, and I have downloaded Vikings but haven't yet watched any of it.
