    Muriatic Acid equivalence to dry acid?

    a gallon of m acid is equivalent to how many pounds of dry?

    I bet you can figure it out using the Pool Calculator...............

    Depends what baume of muriatic acid. Just like bleach, there are different strengths.

    I think it looks like it would be about 11 pounds. I figured it out by seeing what the effects of adding 1 gallon of 31.5% muriatic acid was, and then just kept increasing the amount of dry acid until it matched.

    Looks like you're better than your friend. 2.5 isn't even close.
