hello all, i just bought the intex sand filter, on the plug, it has a test and reset button. can the plug be cut off and a new plug without the test/reset button be installed?
That is the GFCI protection. If your outlet is also GFCI protected, then it should be OK to put a plain plug on it (not sure about code though). Or it could be hardwired into a timer that is on a GFCI circuit.
the outlet is GFCI protected, the main reason for wanting to cut it off, is, everytime i go to vacumm the pool, the pump is not running, and if i kick on the pump manually, it screws with the timer setup for the pump and my seperate intex salt water system. i put it on a outside timer, and when the timer kicks the pump off, and then when the timer goes to turn on, the pump wont go on because it trips the plug reset.
