I have 2 small brown rust stains on the floor of my in-ground fiberglass pool. How do I get rid of them without draining my pool or destroying the gel?
Crush up some cheap vitamin C tablets, place them in a sock and hold the sock (weight it down) against the stain for about 10 minutes. Longer may be necessary. It may not get it all but it will get a lot of it.
Pretty good chance it is not rust but also an equally good chance they are permanent.
I removed a construction nail (probably been there all winter) from the bottom of my vinyl pool and cannot remove the stain with vitamin C. I pretend it's not there.
You could probably have some affect on it by concentrating some muriatic acid on it but you stand some chance of damage to the liner.....not worth it in my case.
