Hi guys, I am new to this forum as I just invested in a new AGP to replace the intex that was here when we bought our house. I could have gone a lot bigger than 18ft round but decided I still wanted my yard. Now I did have to pull a permit to have my pool installed and it should be in tomorrow.
I have a 12 ft wide deck and the pool had to be installed 15ft away from the house by code here in CT. So that leaves me with a gap from my deck to pool. I want to install the deck to pool ladder so I will be adding a VERY SMALL portion of decking to make that happen. I was thinking only 3-4 feet wide.
I thought of 2 options,
Option1
Can i sister the joist and cantilever 3 feet? As you can see in the pic, the beam is on the edge of the existing deck. Which will bring the deck out, but the pool will still be higher than the deck.
Here you can see the existing joists,
Here is the existing beam close to the edge.
Option 2
Just build a step on top of existing deck that brings me to correct height of pool and also extends me out?
