50gal drum of Chlorine Storage

I use a lot of chlorine with the size of my pool. I have SO MANY bottles that stack up and nowhere local to recycle them (and I hate just sending them all to the landfill).

I can get a 50gal drum for a little cheaper per gallon than I am paying now. I would have to store it in the garage, which isn’t cooled but does have open windows and is shaded all day. Would this be okay? I’m not so much concerned with it losing its strength some as just making sure it is safe.

Thanks so much for any advice!

The question here is what else you store in the garage?

Bleach by it self is not that dangerous. But it can react with other stuff quite easily.

As far as chemicals, I actually only store the chlorine in the garage. I keep the Muriatic acid, baking soda, borax, etc inside a cabinet in the house.

Otherwise, we store the cat food, lawn mower, etc in there too.
