I have 15k gallons. 2.7 variable speed pump, just died today. Just dead, 5 years on the nose. Motor has voltage, but haven’t gone into further troubleshooting yet. This just freakin happened an hour ago. maybe there’s a reset or something? Just wanted to see if either of you had any ideas? Thanks:)

Welcome to TFP.

What specific model pump?

How is the pump speeds controlled?

With some Jandy VS pumps you can test the drive with the RS-485 jumper method. Using small sections of 22 AWG wire, jump pins 1 to 3 and 2 to 4. These wires can be made by cutting off a section of the RS-485 wires. Re-install the connector and attach the access cover. Apply power to the motor. The motor should spin at 2600 RPM indefinitely. If the motor works, there is a problem with the RS-485 line or with the controller.

Brandon,

How did you test the AC voltage coming into the pump???

You MUST test between the two hot leads (L1 and L2) coming into the pump, with a voltmeter for 240 Volts AC.. You can not test between L1 and ground and then L2 to ground..

It is possible that you are missing either L1 or L2.

Thanks,

Jim R.
