Trying to help out friends with an algae issue. Big problem is the filtering system. They have approx 5, 550 gal pool, and the filter is one that uses the disposable filters that slip into the compartment. Vacuuming consists of attaching the garden hose to the small vacuum head and then whatever is vacuumed up goes into a small filtering sack attached to the outside of the vacuum head. Nothing goes into the filter during this process. They weren't able to get anything vacuumed up since everything seemed to go right into the cloth net and back into the pool. We did add a pantyhose liner to the bag to get small er particles, and that helped some...
Here's the question...they know they need a better filtering system that the small one they have. But is there anything out there that can be fitted to work with their pool?

If not, what can be done to help it filter better? She has been rinsing the filter itself every hour while it's trying to clear the 'green'....
Also, I convinced her to dump bleach in, instead of using the granules...the bleach won't hurt this type of pool though, will it???!
