How do I put the Pool Calculator on my desktop so I can use it off line?

You want to save the web page to disk. Different web browsers do this in various ways. Commonly you do file - save - as web archive, though the exact wording differs. Once you have done this, you can double click on the file to open the local copy, with or without an Internet connection.
