Is this bad news?

So we just bought our house, never owned a pool before and today I snapped these photos. The pool is a saltwater pool, I'm guessing this is flagstone and I'm guessing it's doing this cause of the salt water?

Is there anything I can do to slow/prevent this? Anyone had to change out there flagstone? The pool was put in in 2007.

Any advice is welcome?

Yes, that looks like salt damage. That kind of stone will do that eventually, salt or no salt. Salt just speeds up the process a little. You can greatly slow down the rate of flaking by sealing the stone.
