    Electrical question

I know this may be a dumb question but it just hit me. Do pumps like the above ground hayward come with plugs or do they need to be hard wired? If hard wired are they 110 or 220? If no plug can you add one?

Most above ground motors come with a cord either 3' or 6'. You can really add whatever you want though. Laws in this area are for a twist lock plug on a GFCI.

Some above ground pumps come with the cord, such as the PowerFlo LX model number SP1580TL (TL means Twist Lock). You can order the cord separately part number SPX1550-WA-1. All electrical work must be done to local code requirements.

Above ground pumps are nearly all 120 volts.

And if the local code is silent - follow the guidelines of the NEC
