    Gauge meter

    My gauge meter on my cartridge filter as well as in-floor cleaning valve has become foggy and cant read anything.

    is there a way to clean it or can I replace it ?

    It can be easily replaced, with a new guage and teflon tape... un screw old one and screw in new one with tape on the threads and tighten...

    Thread on tape. Meaning first put the tape on thread and then tighten ?

    Correct, the teflon tape will seal the threads from leaking...

    I picked up a replacement gauge at Lowe's for about $7. It was with their pool chemicals.

    Be careful not to use too much tape. Tape makes the threads thicker, and can crack some fittings if wound in too tight.
