Whats the best way to clean my filter?

I have a 18' AG doughboy, and I swap out two filters. But all I'm doing in wasing them off with the hose.

What is the best method for cleaning them, what to soak them in, etc. ?

The best method involves you sitting in a lounge chair with a cold beverage, telling the kids they need to wash a little better in between those pleats.
