saltwater and hayward pump

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm very new at this....

I have an intex above ground pool. I want the salt water system from intex.
From my understanding i still need a pump(the one that came with it is weak and want want to replace it) . I will purchase the hayward 1hp model.
Do I still need to buy the hayward(de) filter system?

Yes if you buy a Hayward pump you must the buy a filter for it either a (Sand , De or cartridge) and no question is stupid that is how we learn.
