I am looking into purchasing a 24' round above ground pool and would like to bury it so that only 18" or so sticks out of the ground. Has anybody done this? Pros/Cons?
It's been done several times and the only caveat is that not all pool mfg's allow it. Call the mfg's of the pools you're interested in and find out if they allow it and the specifics that they recommend.
Mine is buried 2 feet deep on the "high" side of the yard which slopes.. I had the mfg. send me an addendum to the warranty to say it was ok. Thought it was strange that the dealer I bought it from didn't have it handy. It can also be based on where you live-----------water table and soil conditions. Check first!
Mine is in the ground and I love it! It will be this way for 3 years come June. I have no regrets and no complaints.
Here's a pic right after install..
