26' Intex questions

Hi, I have a few questions. I have a 26' intex pool. If I add a Hayward skimmer, (1) will the side walls support this skimmer or should add some support under the base of the skimmer?
(2) can I just use the skimmer and plug off those 2 other water inlets? Or so I still need to have those 2 inlets plumbed as well as the skimmer?

I used to have a bestway steel frame oval pool and I cut in a Hayward skimmer. It supported it fine.

That’s what I did. I did have an upgraded pump and filter and larger inlet and return plumbing as well
