Retrofiting lights

Situation: Older 18X36 Vinyl Liner Pool and I am trying to find a lighting solution.

I have purchased and attempted the battery powered LED lights however looking for a more permanent solution without ripping out the liner. Any thoughts and can a light be retro-fitted without wrecking the liner?

Depending on how your pool is set up it may be possible to install some nicheless lights. Pentair and Jandy have them. A creative pool service guy is necessary. But it might be possible.
