Pump emptying into filter when it turns off

For some reason my pump empties itself into the filter when it shuts off. It does not do it all the time, I am totally baffled by it, anyone got any ideas please?

It is most likely an air leak and probably in the pump lid gasket. Inspect the gasket for any cracks and lube with silicon pool lube. Also check the pump drain plugs.

Seems ok now, looks like it was the drain plugs, thank for your help..
