Total alkalinity problems in swimming pools

I don't want to hi-jack the thread but TA is not a good candidate for the cause of itchy skin. The Pool Wizard website is totally without merit and I think has been abandoned for a number of years.

It's pretty hard to pin down the source of itchy skin but it is not always related to pool water chemistry. That said, the presence of CC's can certainly be a factor for itchy skin. My common sense tells me that VERY low pH may also contribute but a TA of 40 should be irrelevant.
