I'm thinking of using a pool cover to help with temp and water loss. Does it help with evaporation? Can I run the filter with the cover on? Any algae concerns?
Yes, if the pool cover is solid/not mesh. Most of the cooling occurs at night due to evaporate cooling. Yes you can run the filter with the cover on, aim jets downwards. (No skimming action will result). Maintain the correct CYA/FC ratio to avoid algae concerns.
