    It is normal to lose 2-4ppm of chlorine per day in most pools

    And it's normal to lose FC faster in warmer water.

    And if you're heating it, there's probably people in it, which also uses a lot of FC.

    My pool isn't heated, and is about 80 right now. It was 84-86 before the rain and cooler weather the last week. I'm losing just shy of 3ppm a day right now.

    It's also a function of your CYA level. If you have a lot of sun on the pool all day you might consider raising the CYA, especially to 50 ppm if you aren't there already. In very hot sunny climates such as the desert, people go even higher in CYA level (but not above 80 ppm since a SLAM becomes more difficult at that level).
