1.5” return and 2” suction

Good morning,
I have a 16x32 pool and I believe the pipe on the suction side has split. It seems to have been installed with 1.5” 40ft of poly pipe. If I convert the suction side to 2” while keeping my return 15ft at 1.5” will it be a problem? Skimmer for the time being will still be at 1.5” as well until I replace just want to do the run until I do. This is a 50 year old pool.

There is no problem at all with increasing the size of suction line. It will actually increase the amount of flow your pump is capable of, all else equal. The increase will be quite small, and perhaps not noticeable.
