20yr old OG Softpool Ring Repair

She lives!!! We removed more of the glue from the previously applied marine tape and the tire patches held! So we topped her off, the pump is running, she's been shocked, and are just waiting on more marine tape to finish up the canvas cover!

20yr old OG Softpool Ring Repair

Right!? I think 10yrs was the average lifespan, they've taken such great care of it. Unfortunately the deck placement was a tad too close and that ripped the canvas cover over the bladder, then a rambunctious water loving Pitty named Thor punctured the exposed bladder. 🙄 I'm hoping our patch job...

20yr old OG Softpool Ring Repair

My bonus mom has a 20yr old OG Softpool (out of business now for years) and last summer her daughter let her pitbull in the pool and he put 2 small tears and 2 small holes in the exposed ring (canvas split a few years ago) and we hare having no luck patching using a latex patch kit (for Intex...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

That's an idea... But if I can't even get them to use the stepping stones. LOL Worth a try, though I am definitely going to get one of those battery powered vacuums.

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

I think I'll be picking one up in the next couple of weeks... Just went for a quick dip and discovered one of the kids had tracked a bunch of sand in. :???: I put sandstone down so they could take their shoes off on the paving and then step to the ladder avoiding the sand... And they avoid...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

I was actually looking at something similar to that at the hardware store the other week, it would probably save me a lot of time and headache. I managed to rig a pool vacuum hose so I could vacuum into the filter with the intake hose and it works but I literally have to vacuum about a square...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

While dad was alive he didn't want to get a pool because he was worried about my Autistic nephew, they tend to be fascinated by water. Read stories all the time about them dying in ponds and pools. But honestly he's like a fish in water, and I've drilled it into his head he needs to let us know...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

Oh I do, since the pool gets so much full sun and it's an AGP I basically run it 24/7. I know I probably shouldn't, I may start turning running the timer at night. I think part of me is just worried if I don't keep it running the water will go south. I really need to get a better pump for it...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

Well the pool has been up for a month now and it's beautiful. I finally got the backyard all in order and am ready to share pictures of my Little Slice of Heaven. Our family never was much of a hangout in the backyard type, but lately we spend more and more time out there. I love coming home...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

Thanks everyone! And I am definitely going to donate to TFPC, I'd rather spend money supporting you all than those pool stores that raked me across the coals last summer. ;-) I was just on my way back from my midnight swim and my nephew stopped me to tell me (in his own way and words) thank...

Year 2, clear as glass, thank you!!!

So last summer was my first year owning a pool, decided to get one after my sister and her kids moved in. I was not prepared for it. LOL But I found this forum and after reading the posts on here (and fumbling through all the first timer mistakes) I'm proud to say that this season my pool...

    Hesci from Jenks, OK!

It's mom, my sister, her 3 kids (2 of which are special needs), myself, 2 dogs and a cat. I had to build a fence for the pool to keep the dogs out and to keep my Autistic nephew out of the pool while it's being shocked and so he won't swim unattended. Ended up slicing my hand down to the bone...

Thank you, nice to meet you as well. =-) I recently became a DIY person as my father passed away in February and now I'm the man of the house taking care of things for my mom. I've fixed several electrical and plumbing issues. My sister and her kids just recently moved in too... Ugh. But...

Welcome to TFP! I just joined recently and this forum helped me from spending hundreds of dollars on useless chemicals and took my pool from cloudy to clear in 3 days. Lots of good information and people to help you understand it. =-)

    bfdl, introducing himself

Welcome to TFP! I just joined recently, and this forum has been a Godsend. In fact what saved my pool (and me from having a stroke) was the BBB method. It works, it's cheap, and it's way easier to read and control with the cheap test strips/kits. And you don't have to worry about Tri-chlor...

    Hesci from Jenks, OK!

LOL I was just out at Blue Hole for the 4th of July, my best friend's family lives in Salina, OK. We go out there every year for the carnival and fireworks. I can only imagine how annoying that must get, getting random people stopping by for directions. I was never one of them though, I had a...

Thank you! I was determined to vacuum with that pump, and it seemed ridiculous to me to buy a huge vacuum attachment for such a little pool. I already had the Walmart vacuum. This really helpful guy at the Home Depot I go to (who also helped me figure out my fountain) found the rubber...

    Hesci from Jenks, OK!

That's "Hello" in the Muskogee (Creek) Nation language. ;-) So just over a month ago I bought my first AGP, it's an Intex Oval soft pool, I'd been creeping around the forum since about 2 weeks before that. The past month has been an expensive and frustrating learning experience. My...
